Elisabeth Moss explains how Peggy Olson has found herself throughout the past six seasons of Mad Men going from a naive young, girl to a power player in the advertising world.
She started out as a young secretary who took care of Don and his secrets. But for Peggy Olson, the innocent girl who got pregnant by Pete Campell, who then gave away her baby son to her sister to raise, being small and meek wasn’t an option. She was set to show the world that women can be power players and hold their own amidst a bunch of rye drinking, chain smoking, womanizing men.
As the season went on, Peggy went from secretary at Sterling Cooper to a major copy writing power player, first at the newly minted Sterling Cooper Draper Price, then as Copy Chief at rival company CGC (Cutler Gleason Chaough) which, much to her dismay, merged with SCDP in season 6.
In this video feature, Moss talks about Peggy’s transformation in her professional and personal life.
