GET AN INSIDE LOOK INTO THE WORLD OF WESTEROS AT THE GAME OF THONES EXHIBITION AT TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX
Fans of Game of Thrones won’t want to miss the chance to see amazing props used in the show’s upcoming second season during a special exhibit at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. On for ten days only, the exhibit is building up momentum for the show’s second season premiere on April 1.
One of the major highlights is the Iron Throne. You’ll get a chance to sit on and get your photo taken from the actual throne used on the show. How cool is that?
The Game of Thrones exhibition also showcases six costumes worn by Jon Snow (worn during filming in Iceland during his adventure north of the wall), Cersei Lannister (a beautiful dress with detailed embroidery fit for a queen), Daenerys Targaryen (a Dothraki-type warrior look), Catelyn Stark (a modest dress fit for a northern noble lady) and Renly Baratheon (an intricate war outfit fit to match the king he wants to be) and a fine, deep red dress to fit a fiery new character introduced in Season 2, Melisandre.
Fans can also watch behind-the-scenes videos from the designers and craftspeople who bring the show to life and see major props symbolic of major plot twists including one of Daenerys’ dragon eggs, Ned Stark’s Hand of the King pin, swords, tableware from feasts, banners of the major House Sigils and still photography. Oh, and did I mention that you’ll also see Ned Stark’s head on a spike?
Game of Thrones: The Exhibition is a free, ticketed event that opens Friday, March 9, for ten days, daily from 12pm - 8pm, and 12pm -10pm on March 12 and 10am – 8 pm on March 13.
Game of Thrones Season 2 airs on Sunday, April 1 at 9pm on HBO Canada and The Movie Network. Amongst the returning cast are Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Maisie Williams and Alfie Allen.
