Dakota Johnson opens up about Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and what it was like working with Jamie Dornan and what scenes she can’t wait for you to see.
It started as a soft whisper in 2011 and soon, women everywhere were roaring about a book they’ve discovered, Fifty Shades of Grey.
Now a cultural phenomenon, E.L. James’ book trilogy, which has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide is finally on the big screen.
The movie follows the love story of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and their shocking sexual escapades in the bedroom.
Their provocative sexual relationship, one of S&M led by Grey, deals with limits, and particularly, sexual limits—setting them, respecting them, overstepping them—and all of the exploration that can take place therein. It is about the placement of trust and the adherence to a mutually-agreed-upon set of rules.
“I feel the world is changing so rapidly and things happen in such a short period of time that the sex in the book—how vividly and how literally it’s described—was very freeing for people,” said Dornan of the phenomenon and how women embraced it.
In this video interview, Dakota Johnson dishes on her co-star, and why it was important for her and everyone on board to get things right for the fans.
