Some of us just don’t want to grow up! In her new movie Laggies, Keira Knightley’s character Megan is stuck in a rut and doesn’t want to move on.
Overeducated and underemployed, 28 year old Megan (Keira Knightley) is in the midst of a quarterlife crisis. Squarely into adulthood with no career prospects, no particular motivation to think about her future and no one to relate to, Megan is comfortable lagging a few steps behind, while her friends check off milestones and celebrate their new grown-up status. When her high-school sweetheart (Mark Webber) proposes, Megan panics and, given an unexpected opportunity to escape for a week, hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year old Annika (Chloë Grace Moretz) and Annika’s world-weary single dad Craig (Sam Rockwell).
While in Toronto, Keira Knightley & Sam Rockwell take on personal questions and poke fun at their teenage years, the prom and being all grown-up with 20 Questions for Laggies director Lynn Shelton.
In Part 1, Sam and Keira talk about “Teenage Dirtbags,” in which Keira describes herself at 16 being “neurotic.”
In Part 2, Sam and Keira talk about The Prom and what Sam’s favourite music was.
In Part 3, Sam and Keira talks about being all grown up and what scares them about the future.
Laggies opens in theatres October 24 and stars Keira Knightley, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sam Rockwell, Mark Webber, Ellie Kemper, Jeff Garlin and Gretchen Mol.
