Who’s in for the new Bond 25 movie? Daniel Craig is back as 007, but who’s joining him on his last journey as James Bond?
While James Bond’s 25th feature film still remains untitled, Daniel Craig’s costars were finally confirmed during an event in Jamaica.
Returning alongside Craig are Ben Wishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M. Lea Seydoux’s Madeleine Swann, Rory Kinnear as Tanner and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.
Joining the cast are Lashana Lynch (“Captain Marvel”), Ana De Armas (“Blade Runner 2020”), Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen (“Into the Woods”). Of course, every Bond movie needs a stellar villain, and that honor goes to Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek.
While Malek, fresh off his Oscar win for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” was MIA at the announcement, but instead sent a video confirming his role as the villain. “I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing,” he said in the clip.
Filming has already begun in Norway, and while the plot is slowly under wraps, a press release reveals a snippet as to what we can expect.
The official synopsis reads: Bond has left active service and is enjoying a quiet life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, Bond 25 will follow Craig’s adventures in “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” “Skyfall” and “Spectre” and is rumored to be his last time playing the titular secret agent.
The movie hits theaters April 8, 2020.
