Marvel has released the much-anticipated trailer for its upcoming Captain Marvel movie trailer which introduces Brie Larson into the superhero universe!
Fans in the comic world and around the world finally get the chance to glimpse into what we can expect in the next big superhero offering in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie. Starring Brie Larson as the studio’s first female superhero to get a solo film, Captain Marvel will tell the origin story of one of the most powerful characters in the entire MCU.
“Aside from the fact that it’s iconic to be part of this, to
be playing the first female in a solo movie, I think for
me personally, one of the things I’m excited about is the idea of female complexity.” —Brie Larson
Marvel President Kevin Feige had previously told Entertainment Weekly that, “She is more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far. So that alone tells you that there’s a reason Nick hit that button at the end of Avengers: Infinity War after he realized that they were up against something far bigger than they had ever been up against before. And, having her on your side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.”

“Aside from the fact that it’s iconic to be part of this, to be playing the first female in a solo movie, I think for me personally, one of the things I’m excited about is the idea of female complexity,” Larson told Collider while promoting her upcoming action movie Free Fire. “That’s what I’ve wanted to bring to every type of genre and every film that I’ve done. How can we come to understand the mystique of being female?”
She said she doesn’t want her characters to just be the girl in an action movie who acts tough and is “just like a dude.” She said, “That’s too easy. That’s not where we’re at actually. I think women are far more complicated and more interesting than just saying, ‘They’re like a dude, and that’s what makes them tough and that’s what makes them cool.’ That’s just not how it works.”
The film also stars Jude Law (Marv-Vell), Samuel L Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lee Pace (Ronan), Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers).
Captain Marvel is set to hit theatres in March 2019. Stay Tuned.
