Kim Kardashian’s Under Eye Makeup Tips Using Her New KKW Beauty Concealer Kit

Kim Kardashian West reveals her “secret weapon” tips on concealing under eyes with her new KKW Beauty Concealer Kit.

If you’re following Kim Kardashian on Instagram, you may have heard her repeating three words in over and over again: Conceal, bake, brighten.

Adding to her popular KKW Beauty line, Kim’s releasing a new concealer kit to help make it easy to achieve her perfect under eye look that her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic creates to make her look fresh, young and bright. According to Kim, this method has been her “secret weapon” for years.

Here are Kim and Mario’s tips on how to get that “looks like I’ve slept for 12 hours” effect.

Conceal
We all know what concealer is. Even if you have a different method to apply, concealer is used to hide dark circles under the eyes.
In Kim and Mario’s tutorial, he applies a liquid concealer under the eye, and blends it in with a beauty blender. He then applies a bit more concealer in a lighter shade to build on the coverage in small lines under her eyes, nose and chine and on the furrow of her brow. It almost looks like Aztec warrior-style paint!

Bake
Professional makeup artists have this down to an art. But can we civilians do this at home without looking ridiculous? Why is it necessary? Baking is just a more updated and interesting beauty term for setting. It involves applying a layer of fine, loose translucent powder over your concealer to set it for a wrinkle-free finish. Essentially, you’re “baking” your concealer to avoid the product setting into fine lines under your eyes.
To bake, Mario recommends using a beauty blender to apply a layer of the powder directly onto the skin wherever you put your concealer. Next, set it and forget it…. for like a few minutes or so, before brushing away the excess powder with a small brush.

Brighten
Are you still on board? Once you’ve concealed and baked your makeup, which Kim says is her favourite step, you need to brighten things up to put some light back under the eyes, which have been mattified. Mario uses a small fluffy eye brush to lightly blend in a brightening powder, which he says adds “that extra pop.”

If you don’t have Kim’s KKW Beauty Concealer Kit, you can use your own products and follow Mario’s steps.
