Face Rollers: Benefits of Using Jade & Rose Quartz Face Rollers

By adding one of these face rollers to your skincare routine, you can help boost hydration, reduce wrinkles and get a youthful, glowing look, instantly.

If you are a beauty junkie and Instagram trends addict, chances are you scrolled through many posts of women rolling some sort of roller over their face. Whether they’re made of jade or rose quartz, these little hand-held stone tools aren’t some new beauty breakthrough in skincare. They’ve actually been a staple in traditional Chinese skincare routines for thousands of years. Why?

It’s believed that these face rollers —and using them to “exercise” your facial muscles— can have healing and protective properties.

The handheld massagers are usually dual-ended with two jade / rose quartz heads, that are different sizes. By rolling them in certain directions, they can help boost circulation, reduce puffiness, smooth wrinkles and allow your skincare products absorb better.

Essentially, they’re a quick and easy mini-facial you can do at home, to help keep your skin looking young, vibrant and healthy. The increase in circulation is what helps improve the appearance of skin.

The most popular and immediate result you’ll see is how glowing your face looks after a little face rolling massage. Why? Because you’re increasing the blood flow in the areas of your face and encouraging lymphatic drainage.

Tip: For inflammation and puffiness reduction, place the
stone roller in the refrigerator. The cold stone will help to
increase circulation, drain congested lymph nodes, rid the body of toxins/waste, and stimulate collagen production.

When massaging your face with the roller, skincare experts say to start at the center of your face, under the eyes and cheekbones, and move out towards your hairline using the small stone.

Next, with the larger size stone, move down towards the jawbone, starting at the centre of the chin and moving out towards the bottom of the ear for a lifting effect.

You can also roll the stone down the sides of your neck to help flush out toxins.

To get a face lift, move your roller in the opposite direction. By rolling upwards from the jawline up towards the cheek area will instantly give you a lift.

One of the best ways to use face rollers, is when you have serums or oils on your face. When using the roller with other skincare products, the tool will not only glide better, but will also help your products penetrate into the areas that need it the most.

You can also roll over a face mask, which has become a popular technique at spas!

Tidbit: What’s the difference between these stones? According to ancient Chinese history, Rose Quartz is one of the most beautifying healing stones. It helps to ease tension and stress in the body, soothes anxiety, and increases self-love, which is essential when it comes to clear, smooth skin. Jade represents wisdom, balance and peace. It is a highly calming stone which makes it great for irritated skin conditions. Both help to improve skin elasticity, lymphatic drainage and wrinkle prevention.
