Check out the list of winners including the real Best Picture: Moonlight.
Hollywood’s biggest night in movies ended with confusion and chaos. The last award that everyone was waiting for, Best Picture, was mistakenly announced as La La Land, when in fact the true winner was Moonlight. What?
The Barry Jenkins-directed coming-of-age story was the real winner despite Warren Beatty handed off the card to Faye Dunaway who announced the wrong film. When it was discovered, La La Land‘s producers, Jordan Horowitz, noted the error and called the award for Moonlight. “This is not a joke,” he said.
Snafu aside, Emma Stone and Casey Affleck took Best Actor and Actress for their movies, Manchester by The Sea and La La Land while La La Land’s director Damien Chazelle won Best Director.
