Hot off the fashion runways, we’ve compiled a fashion cheat sheet of the top fall trends that you can wear this fall season.
It’s time for your fall fashion makeover! Say goodbye to summer tanks and short, shorts and hello to puffy jackets, fall florals and velvet touches.
From sporty street wear to animal prints and nautical touches, here are a few fall trends you can add to your wardrobe this fall.
Orange Crush
Every fall season there’s one colour that makes a huge splash. This year, fall fashion is putting the spotlight on orange. But before you think you can’t pull off this shade, the colour of the season will come in many hues. Think rusty orange and pumpkin spice.
Sporty Spice
Incorporating the sporty look into everyday wear is continuing in full force this season but with a bit of a ’90s twist. Think logo sweats, oversized hoodies and boxy sweatpants —all purposely tailored and paired to look relaxed, but giving off a bit of edge.
Little Bohemia
The bohemian trend is not only reserved for festival fashion. This season, the printed maxi dress is perfect to wear to a formal event and also dressed down and paired with ankle booties to get that tres chic, laid-back, country-cool look.
Velvet
It wouldn’t be fall without a bit of velvet. Since head-to-toe velvet can be tricky to pull off, add touches of the material to your overall ensemble, like adding a jacket or skirt to your wardrobe.
Animal Instincts
It’s time to release your animal instincts! Although cat-like prints fall on and off the radar, they’re making a big comeback this season. Aside from dresses and coats, the print can also be seen on shoes, belts and bags.
Nautical
From sailor paints to pea coats, this is one trend that you can definitely invest in. The clean simple lines, stripes and button accents make these pieces timeless classics.
Puffy Jackets
It may not seem like a glamorous option this fall but the puffer, or down jacket, is the season’s top trend for outerwear. Given fashion’s obsession with street wear this season, a puffy jacket is an easy addition to your wardrobe and can easily give simple denim a bit of a ’90s attitude.
Fall Florals
Fans of floral patterns will be happy to know you can wear this pattern during the cooler temps, too. This season, expect this garden variety to be added to sweatshirts, skirts, jackets and the ever-trendy bohemian maxi dress.
Plaid & Tartan
If it’s one thing we can count on for fall it’s the good old-fashioned plaid print. But this season it’s not just about your trusty old shirt. Designers like Calvin Klein and Victoria Beckham approached plaid in a much stylish way. It can be seen many pieces from outerwear to pants to cocktail dresses.
