HEALTH BUZZ: THE FUTURE OF JUICING WITH “THE JUICERO PRESS” THE NEW KEURIG-LIKE JUICER

With no mess, or cutting or buying your own fruits and veggies, the new Juicero cold-pressed juicer is set to revolutionize the way you get fresh juice at home, everyday.

Coming to a store near you?

Can you imagine owning a juicer that will produce fresh fruit and vegetable juice in a pinch with no fuss or mess? That’s the idea behind Doug Evans’ new counter top, cold-pressed juicer, “the Juicero,” that uses ready-made packs to bring you fresh juice in minutes.

The main idea behind Juicero, dubbed “the Keurig of juicers,” is to get people drinking the best nutrients extracted from locally-sourced fruits and vegetables in an easy and convenient way. The idea was so hot, Evans raised over $120 million US in investors (including Google Ventures and Campbell Soup) to develop to perfect model.

Raw cold pressing is the time-tested juicing technique that extracts liquid goodness from live fruits and vegetables. Used in olive oil and wine production—and for commercially made cold-pressed juice—this method is known for using tremendous force without creating heat. The result: nutrient-dense, vibrant juice that delights.

With the Juicero home juicer, this powerful technology is harnessed into a beautiful countertop device. Now, you can make cold-pressed juice at home, in the moment. - Juicero

Currently selling in California, the Juicero runs for about $700 US. It’s pricey, and Evans has admitted that he and his team are still finding ways to reduce the cost.

So how exactly does it work? Users place a ready-made pack in the Wi-Fi connected machine, press the button and out comes a  8-oz. glass of juice. The packs, which resemble IV bags, are QR coded to ensure each blend is juiced properly and also lets you see what farms grew the produce in each blend.

So far, Juicero offers a few juice blends including Sweet Greens, Sweet Roots, Beta Glow and Carrot Beet, with each pack ranging in price from $5 to $7 US.
