Leo, Brie, Alicia and Mark win this year’s top Oscar honours. Check out who else won at this year’s 88th Annual Oscar awards.
The biggest award of this year’s 88th Annual Oscars went to “Spotlight,” which pulled out a win for best picture. The Tom McCarthy-directed film won one trophy early in the night for best original screenplay while its runner up, “The Revenant,” won best cinematography, director and lead actor.
Earlier in the night, “Bridge of Spies” star Mark Rylance surprised everyone, and pundits, when he won Best Supporting Actor over Sylvester Stallone (“Creed”), whom many thought would win. Alicia Vikander won Best Supporting Actress for “The Danish Girl, while actress Brie Larson won Best Lead Actress lead actress for her heartfelt performance in “Room.”
Rounding off the big awards: Alejandro Iñárritu wins Best Director and, just as predicted, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won a gold statue for Best Actor for “The Revenant.”
