For an extra healthy kick, swap out your morning or afternoon coffee with a matcha latte for an antioxidant boost. You won’t believe how good it is for you.
Let’s cut right to the chase. We’ve all heard about how great green tea is and that it’s a powerful antioxidant. Love, love the green tea. If you also love green tea and drink it for its health benefits then you’ll definitely want to go for the gusto: Matcha Powder. Why? Because it’s super duper potent.
One serving of matcha tea powder is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea. In fact, when you drink matcha you ingest the entire leaf and receive 100% of its nutrients. In its powdered form matcha green tea has 137 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea.
To put it in perspective, one cup of matcha = 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea in terms of nutritional content. According to many research studies, matcha is packed with more antioxidants than any other superfood. The more antioxidants you have in your body, the better your body can fight against disease, infection and bacteria and other illnesses. Because matcha is stoneground tea leaves, it provides you with a powerful arsenal of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids in a way that’s wasted by simply brewing the leaves.
Another great health benefit is weight loss. A study featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy to 35% and 43% of daily energy expenditure.
Overall Health benefits:
-It’s packed with antioxidants including the powerful EGCg
-Boosts metabolism and burns calories
-PH balancer
-Calms the mind and relaxes the body
-Natural detoxifies
-High in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
-Enhances mood and aids in concentration
-Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
-Helps fight bacteria and disease
-Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
The only downfall is that it’s pretty pricey. The reason why matcha green tea powder is so expensive is because of its many health benefits.
It can easily be found in most grocery stores, Asian stores, or online.
