Just because the summer season is over, it doesn’t mean you need to put away your outdoor grill. This BBQ pizza from Delissio Rustico will reinvent pizza night and transport you to Italy with every bite.
Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean can’t beat the BBQ blues! And seeing that pizza night is everyone’s favourite, why not marry the two? That’s right, we said it, ditch the meat and grill a pizza instead!
In my family, we grill all year long. While the weather is getting a bit cooler, you can still take advantage of your BBQ with fast meals that are quick and delicious. The trick to wanting to get out and grill during the cooler months is choosing items that are quick.
That’s why grilling pizza will be your new favourite meal to BBQ. I recently grilled up the Pepperoni Diavolo frozen pizza from Delissio Rustico. I placed it on the BBQ on medium heat, cooking it through until the cheese was gooey and the bottom had perfect grill marks (about 15 - 20 minutes depending on your grill).
Because of their stone-baked, sourdough thin crust, Delissio Rustico pizzas are great for the grill because they crisp up perfectly. Cooking on the grill also adds a light smokey flavour that gives your pizza an extra edge of flavour. You get that perfect balance of chewy and crunch with every bite.
I took things to another level by adding a bunch of arugula on top of my pizza to add a delicious Neopolitan pizza flair. Of course, you can get creative and add your favourite toppings to make your own personalized pizza.
