After testing many nail polishes over the years, this polish gets an “A” for not only giving beautiful, shiny colour, but for also giving up to 12 days of lasting nail coverage. Truly.

Getting a manicure makes a woman feel like a million bucks. I know when I get one, I want to show off my hands any chance I get.

But the one thing about regular polish is that it only lasts a day, or so, before the dreaded chipping begins. I mean, how many of you have sported that horrific mosaic looking nail? No, it’s not a work of art.

Many polishes have come a long way. You can now do gel manicures at home, curing it with a mini UV ray machine. You can opt for that special top coat that allows for less chipping to occur (getting you past that 2 day mark, maybe). And, of course, you can use polish stickers for less mess if you’re not the steady hand type. (Even those stickers can be a challenge.)

With all of these choices available, you still run the risk of the dreaded chip. While a pro gel mani will solve that problem, giving you up to 2 weeks of coverage, getting it off your nails is a laborious process and can strip your nail beds, making them weak.

So what’s the happy medium? It’s the new L’Oreal Infallible Gel Nail Polish. When I tried this new polish, that comes in the cool form of a two-ended stick, the results were amazing.

This 2-in-1 product offers a colour base coat that resists dulling that works together with a high shine top coat that plumps up the nail surface. The top coat, which works only with this polish, helps prevent chipping with an innovative flex technology. (It has two exclusive silicone and Flex ResinTM formulas that interact with one another to create toughness, superior adhesion to nail and magnified shine.) The best part is that it’s easily removed with nail polish remover, with no damage to nails. Best of all, it promises to give up to 12 days of coverage.

I put it to the test to see if it could stand the rigors of my daily life, including typing all day, jewelry making, doing dishes and taking showers. So, how did Infallible Nail Polish hold up?

Here are the results:

Day 1

Day 5

 Day 8

(Shade, Always a Lady; Ring, House of Cromwell)

As you can see, the polish stayed strong until Day 8. In my books, anything past three days is spectacular, so you can imagine my delight knowing this polish had lasted this long. On Day 9, chipping began around the tips of my nails. When Day 10 hit, I opted to take the polish off.

L’Oreal Infallible Nail Polish comes in 12 beautiful shades and is in stores now. Try it and tell us what you think!
