ANGELINA JOLIE TALKS MARRIAGE AND HER “ODD” CAREER CHOICES
In the January issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Angelina Jolie talks about her new film with Brad Pitt and her odd career choices.
It’s been 10 years since Angelina Jolie and her now husband, Brad Pitt, worked together in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. So, according to Jolie, it was “time” the pair worked together on a movie, which she also wrote and directed. While Jolie and Pitt fell in love while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, in their upcoming movie, Beyond the Sea, they play a couple in a failing marriage.
“Yes, we spent our honeymoon playing two people in a terrible marriage,” Jolie told THR of directing Pitt in the movie. “I’m sure a therapist would have a field day analyzing the films I choose to do. But it’s been 10 years since Brad and I have worked together. It felt like it was time.”
In the interview, Jolie admitted that she doesn’t have a publicist, manager or agent. “I never had a plan for my life. I do what I want to do,” she told THR about her career. “And if suddenly tomorrow I couldn’t do anything, I could deal with that. I’d be happy at home being a mom.”
In fact, in the last few years, while building up her career as a director (Unbroken hits theatres December 25), Jolie has hinted that her acting days may be numbered.
“I don’t want to be in hair and makeup, I don’t want to be in wardrobe, I don’t want to have to stand on a mark or emote,” she told THR. “It makes me feel like a caged tiger.”
Angelina’s full interview can be seen in the January 9 issue of The Hollywood Reporter, “The Rule Breakers” issue, which focuses on the year’s most successful stars, including Michael Keaton, Taylor Swift and Chris Pratt.
