GOLDEN GLOBES AWARDS 2015: THE COMPLETE LIST OF NOMINEES
“Birdman,” “Boyhood” and “The Imitation Game” were among the top films to garner nominations when the nominations for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards were announced on Thursday morning by Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Jeremy Piven.
“Birdman,” starring Michael Keaton, earned seven nominations, including nods for best picture in its category, director, screenplay and acting nods for Michael Keaton and Emma Stone. “”The Imitation Game” and “Boyhood” also led the nods with five nominations each.
Television nominations included “Girls,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Orange Is the New Black,” “Silicon Valley” and “Transparent” for comedy series and “The Affair,” “Downton Abbey,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Good Wife” and “House of Cards” for drama series. Popular shows like The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy and award regular, Modern Family, were noticeable snubbed. Angelina Jolie’s film “Unbroken” was also snubbed.
NBC will air the Golden Globe Awards live on January 11 from the Beverly Hills Hotel with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who return for their third run.
George Clooney will also receive the Cecil. B. Demille award for his outstanding contributions to filmmaking over the last year. President Theo Kingma of the Hollywood Foreign Press said: “The HFPA is honoured to bestow the Cecil B. DeMille Award to George Clooney to celebrate his outstanding contributions both in front of and behind the camera.”
