DIY LIVING: HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN LINEN WATER
Don’t like the smell of your regular detergent? Tailor the scent of your linens with your very own custom-made linen water.
Regular detergent scents can sometimes be to powerful for many. If you’re one of those people who find them too strong but still want a fresh scent to your linens try making your own linen water.
All you need is a few simple items to make them and they are a fraction of the cost than the ones in the store.
Linen Waters aren’t just great for spraying onto bed linens. You can also use them on towels or as an air freshener. When using on linens, they are most effective when linens are being ironed. The hot iron helps to infuse the scent into the fabric ensuring that the aroma will last.
How to make Linen Water:
2 tbs of alcohol (We suggest a clear spirit like vodka. The alcohol prevents the essential oil and water from separating.)
A few drops of your favourite essential oil. We tried Lavender for its sleep easy properties.
2 cups of distilled water
Mix items together in a spray bottle container. After washing linens, spritz sheets with your fresh water and voila! Instant pick me up.
You can make this concoction with any fragrant oil including orange, lemon, grapefruit, mint or eucalyptis. The possibilities are endless. So play around and find a fresh fragrance you love!
