If you’re a fan of Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel Gone Girl, it’s time to get excited for a first look into the movie adapation that’s set to hit theatres in October. Ben Affleck stars in the film as Nick Dunne, a man who becomes a murder suspect after the mysterious disappearance of his wife, Amy Dunne, who is played by actress Rosamund Pike. And to make matters worse, he’s the main suspect.
In this first teaser trailer, Affleck pleads his innocence. “I did not kill my wife,” Affleck says in the clip. “I am not a murderer.” The initial trailer shows footage of search parties looking for his wife, Amy, as well as flashbacks to Amy and Nick’s marriage, and the ensuing media frenzy that follows the case.
And with the film already wrapped, Affleck told eweekly that the movie will stay close to the books events. “I don’t want to give away too much, because if you know the book, you know that there are set of reveals that you would want to maintain the integrity of,” says Affleck. “But I will say that Gillian adapted it and I think it’s very, very faithful to her book. If you read the book and liked it, you will definitely like the movie.”
And with director David Fincher at the helmed (The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Fight Club) we can be sure to except a thrilling ride. Gone Girl also star Emily Ratajkowski, and Tyler Perry.
