The Fifty Shades of Grey movie big wigs have announced they’ve found their new Christian Grey, following Charlie Hunnam’s explosive release weeks ago.

Jamie Dornan-FIfty-Shades-Of-GreyThe film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy), who reportedly screen tested Dornan and Dakota before making the final deal with Fifty Shades Trilogy author, E.L. James and the film’s producers.

Producer Michael De Luca acknowledged that losing Hunnam was a huge set back but now reports that production is ‘‘on track’’ after their lead actress, who is also the daughter of Hollywood veteran actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, has helped in the search for Hunnam’s replacement.

‘‘She’s the best partner a producer could have,’’ he told ‘‘She’s helping us look through the candidates to see which chemistry kind of captures our attention.’’

Universal Studios and Focus Features told Variety that this time around they’ve decided to go with a relatively unknown lead (smart) so that no baggage will come to the character.

Dornan, 31, best known as a model, has appeared on screen in the TV show Once Upon A Time and as Axel von Fersen in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, as the dashing soldier who steals the young Queen’s heart.

From Northern Ireland, Dornan has also modeled for Calvin Klein, Dior which will no doubt help him with the nude scenes he’s about to embark on.

Fifty Shades of Grey is set to start filming this November in Vancouver, Canada.
