In the new Man of Steel trailer we see the hunky Henry Cavill battle it out as one of comics’ most beloved superheros, Superman, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Warner Bros. has released a new full-length trailer for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, a three-minute snapshot as to what we can expect from the greatest DC Comics character. The trailer features a look at Zod and Jor-El and marks the first time we’ve heard Amy Adams’ Lois Lane speak.

The trailer opens with Superman on Krypton with his parents Jor-El and wife Lara debating whether their son can make it on Earth after his home planet is destroyed. “Goodbye my son, my hopes and dreams travel with you,” says Jor-El (Russell Crowe). “Kal-El will be a ‘god’ to the people of Earth.”

The trailer then focuses on Clark Kent’s formative years being raised on a farm by Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane). The villain, also hailing from Krypton is General Zod, is played by Michael Shannon.

Man of Steel is directed by Zack Snyder and writter by The Dark Knight Rises writer David Goyer and stars Amy Adams as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as her editor-in-chief, Perry White, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner Starring as Clark Kent’s adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod, Russell Crowe as Superman’s father, Jor-El and Julia Ormand as his mother Lara Lor-Van and Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.

Man of Steel (Warner Bros.) opens on June 14.
