THE 70TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS 2013 WINNERS LIST

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, this year’s Golden Globe Awards was tight, on time and a comedy hit, honouring big movie and TV winners Argo, Les Mis, Girls and Homeland and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Daniel Day Lewis.

Expected to be a big night in film and television, the 70th Golden Globes ceremony, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did not disappoint. The pair made the night entertaining with traditional comedy but with few zingers added for good, shocking measure that kept the tradition of the Golden Globes being a laid back, tongue and cheek awards show.

Amongst the major Golden Globe Awards winners, which honors the best in film and television, were Argo,” “Les Miserables,” and “Django Unchained,” with each of them having the most nominations.

As expected, Daniel Day-Lewis won for his harrowing performance in “Lincoln,” Anne Hathaway for “Les Miserables,” and Jennifer Lawrence for “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Television winners included major props for HBO”s “Girls,” and “Game Change,” and Showtime’s hit thriller “Homeland.” HBO received 17 nominations as a network, including five for “Game Change.” Only in its second season, “Homeland,” scored four nominations, including Best Television Series, Drama.

Best Original Score: Mychael Danna, “Life of Pi”

Best Original Song: “Skyfall” (music and lyrics by Adele and Paul Epworth), “Skyfall”
