The shellac or gel manicured was a definite revolution in nails. With no dry time and polish colour that lasts up to two or three weeks, it’s a craze for all women who love getting manis have become addicted to.

In order to do your own gel mani you need to buy an at-home kit. Quo by Orly has introduced a line of gel colours, and the tools necessary to complete the perfect manicure at home and in a snap.

 

1. QUO BY ORLY APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Prep: Use Pusher/Remover to push back cuticle. Use the buffer to lightly buff the top layer of the nail. Apply a small amount of Gel Cleanser onto the Lint Free Wipe and thoroughly clean the nail surface.

2. Apply Primer: Lightly prime only the nail tips with Primer, avoiding cuticle and skin area. Let air dry for 30 seconds.

3. Apply Base Layer & Cure: Brush thin, even layer of Base+Top onto nail, avoiding cuticle and skin area. Align nail in lamp and start automatic timer, remove your hand once the lamp chirps at the 30 second mark. Cure four fingers first, then thumbs separately.

4. Apply 1st Colour Coat & Cure: Brush thin, even layer of gel colour onto nail, avoiding cuticle and skin areas. Align nail in lamp and start automatic timer. When curing light or sheer shades, remove your hand once the lamp chirps at the 30 second mark. For darker shades, cure nails for the entire minute until the lamp shuts off. Cure four fingers first, then thumbs separately.

5. Apply 2nd Coat of Colour & Cure: Brush second thin, even layer of gel colour onto nail, avoiding cuticle and skin areas. Note, certain shades may require 3 coats. Align nails in lamp and start automatic timer. (Same rules as 4)

6. Apply Top Layer & Cure: Brush thin even layer of  Base+Top onto nail, avoiding cuticle and skin area. Align nails in lamp and start automatic timer. When curing light or sheer shades, remove your hands once the lamp chirps at the 30 second mark. For darker shades, cure nails for the entire minute until the lamp shuts off. Cure four fingers first, then thumbs separately.

7. Shine: Apply small amount of Gel Cleanser onto Lint Free Wipe and swipe over nail. This will remove the tacky layer and leave your nails super shiny.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. File: Break the seal of the gel by filing off the shiny top layer with ORLY 180 grit file. The top shiny layer must be completely removed. 2. Soak: Pour small amount of  Gel Remover into Quo by ORLY Gel Pocket Remover and place your finger inside for 10 minutes. 3. Remove: After 10 minutes, remove finger from Pocket Remover and gently push the gel off the nail with the ORLY Pusher/Remover. Excess gel can be easily buffed off.
