Eric bows down to the Authority and Sookie finds out she’s promised to another vamp in True Blood Episode 10.

True Blood, Season Five, Episode 10, “Gone, Gone, Gone”—As True Blood winds down, things are starting to finally come to a conclusion, which most True Blood fans seem happy about this season.

Things picked up with Russell revealing his true plan, to walk in the sun, and giving his formal f*&k you to those weird Vampire Authority members. He flexed his 3,000 year-old muscles reminding everyone that he’s the strongest before making a break for it.

Everyone seemed shocked with Russell’s plan to feed on faeries, and even Bill who has gone deep into the Lilith cult had a twinge of fear in his face when Russell made that proclamation. Sookie is, after all, the most accessible faerie around. Which brings me back to last season when Eric and Bill captured Russell. How could you choose not to kill this vamp?

It’s good to know that robotic Bill does feel something these days, because I feel nothing for Bill. He seems to be easily swayed by anyone throughout the entire history of the series, and is a truly weak vamp. Now he’s trying to convert poor Jessica, who, coming from a bible-thumping family in her human life, thinks they’re all off their rockers. But what about Eric? After Nora and Bill force him to take more of Lilith’s blood, he and Nora go into a drug-induced state to see Lilith’s vision but instead first see their maker Goderich, who tells them that Lilith is destructive before Lilith appears and kills him.

After that, Eric gravels to Russell and the Authority members to take him in but is it for real? I have more faith in Eric, as he is a stronger character who does not like to be pushed around. I think Eric should be the King, not Bill. Go Eric!

But it’s not only Russell who wants a taste for Sookie’s faerie blood. After Jason proves his detective skills and finds an old scroll under Gran’s bed, they take it to the faeries for translation. When the very pregnant 500-year-old faerie Maurella (who may be pregnant with Andy’s baby) translates the document, she reveals it’s a contract. Turns out in the 1700’s, one of Sookie’s ancestors promised the vampire Warlow the first-born female faerie in their family.

Meanwhile, over at Fangtasia, Tara has turned into a lethal vampire killing the new proclaimed Sheriff. When Pam sees what Tara’s has done, she’s at a loss for words. But Hoyte isn’t.

Before he sets off to Alaska, he meets up with Jessica and Jason and asks Jessica to glamour him to forget all his pain and his memories of her and his childhood friend. Goodbye Hoyte, it was nice having you, but your storyline has nowhere else to go.

With only two more episodes left to go it’s going to be interesting how the rest of these last two storylines play out. But I’ll say one thing; there is something truly fishy about Lilith’s blood and I can’t wait to meet Warlow.

True Blood airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO Canada.
