THE BACHELORETTE RECAP—EMILY PICKS HER FINAL TWO BACHELORS
And then there were two. With one more episode to go, Emily Maynard needs to decide whose heart she’ll break. But in this round, Sean gets the boot before getting one last fantasy send off.
This week on The Bachelorette, Emily brings her remaining three bachelors to Curacao where the men lay it on the line in an effort to make it to the final two and Emily finally fulfills her contract obligations by stripping down to a bikini on each of her dates.
Each date was pretty similar – some time on a boat or a beach, where Emily wore a bikini on screen for the agreed-upon two minutes, and a romantic dinner where some “tough” questions were asked. She even presented Sean and her little brother Jeff with one ‘f’ with the Fantasy Suite card, even though “as a mother and role model” she had no intention of letting them spend the night. While it is great that Emily is trying to maintain some level of class, not to do anything to embarrass her daughter, it’s hard to forget that she agreed to be on a dating show that actually has something called a Fantasy Suite.
On her date with Sean, it became obvious that the main reason he’s stuck around so long is because he’s good on paper. While they would look great together and he seems like a nice Texas gentleman, they don’t really have much in common. As the date wore on, you could see Emily realize that Sean wasn’t the one for her and that even though his parents have that amazing clubhouse for his niece (and possibly Ricki), that wasn’t enough. She did, however, give him the Fantasy Suite card. He accepted and after fulfilling another contract obligation by making out with him in a hot tub, she sent him back to his room to sleep it off.
Next up, she spent the day with Jef with one “f.” At dinner, Jef asked a lot of questions, including the dreaded why things didn’t work out with any of the other guys she’s dated. After that zinger, he managed to redeem himself by asking her how she saw him fitting into Ricki’s life. Emily told him that when she was just at home with Ricki, Jef came to mind when she tried to picture who would fit into their regular life. Jef scored some more points by agreeing to go back to the Fantasy Suite with her, but only for a while because he realized that she was a role model to her daughter. Way to beat her to the punch Jef!
Her final date was with Arie and, as usual, they made out for most of the time. You can tell that Emily is really attracted to Arie but there probably isn’t much more to it than that. She tried to dig a little deeper by asking him what he does on a regular day, but that backfired when he stammered for a bit before telling her he gets up about 9ish, then maybe heads to the shop for a bit. After that bit of awkwardness, they made out some more. She didn’t even offer him the Fantasy Suite card because she wants to jump his bones so bad she said she’s so attracted to him, she didn’t trust herself not to let him stay the night.
At the rose ceremony, Sean was sent home. My money is on him becoming the next Bachelor and Jef getting the final rose after Emily sneaks an off-camera quickie with Arie.
