Dimples are cute on cheeks but not on your butt or thighs. While a vast majority of women, who suffer from the unflattering effects of cellulite, try many creams and serums, they don’t seem to solve the problem. But this new treatment is said to be revolutionary for getting ridding cellulite for good. Is it right for you?

Creams. Lotions. Serums. You’ve tried it all and have no doubt paid an enormous amount of money on products that claim to fix the appearance of cellulite. Sorry to break it to you, but there isn’t any scientific evidence that suggests these creams actually rid cellulite.

There are some lotions that will tighten skin and moisturize so the appearance is slightly minimized but they don’t get to the root of the problem. Of course, diet and exercise can help minimize the effects but as many, who have tried this, will know that those darn dimples just won’t go away.

The cause of cellulite is due to a structural issue under the skin.

Physicians explain that it’s caused by a few reasons the main reason being connective tissue. The connective tissue bands beneath your skin surrounding fat cells can become tight and inflexible and start to pull down on the skin. When this happens, pockets of fat become trapped between these bands, pushing up against the skin causing a dimpled effect on the skin’s surface.

While there are many non-surgical treatments out there to help smooth out your skin and claim to break down the fat, they still don’t treat the actual cause of the problem. The newest and most promising treatment now available to get to the root of the matter is called Cellulaze.

Cellulaze is the first cellulite treatment that attacks the structure of cellulite for clinically proven, longer-lasting results. It’s the first and only cellulite treatment that targets the actual structural problems underneath the skin, to give you proven, results from one treatment.

How does it work? The treatment involves a couple of tiny incisions (pen sized) in the area to be treated. Local anesthesia is then used on the area and a Cellulaze laser fibre (cannula) is inserted. The laser fibre begins to level of fat bumps, and most importantly, breaks down the fibrous bands that are pulling down on the skin. The liquefied fat is then drained out. The procedure is said to take about 1 to 1.5 hours and it’s suggested to take that day off from work. Side effects include bruising and swelling. The treatments range in price from $2,500 to $10,000+, depending on your area(s), but only one treatment is required.

With any treatment, you should weigh the pros and cons and learn more about the side effects. Basically, do your homework. Because this treatment is new, ask your local physician to learn more about it and if it’s right for you.
