Going away or planning a mini-break? As summer approaches, it’s time to buy new swim suits and beachwear to get you on trend for the colourful season. When planning your vacation or poolside fashion, go bold and bright not only with your swimsuit but with accessories.

Inspired by the beaches of Miami, the new summer items from Sears make it easy to one-stop shop and get right on trend. “This summer, colour is my favourite accessory,” says Cynthia Florek, Trend Director for Women’s Wear at Sears Canada. “Inspired by Miami Beach, vivid yellows, vibrant blues and hot pinks are a must. Embrace all-over bold, saturated colour with a printed caftan over a bright swim suit.”

While you can mix and match all the colourful brights this season, Florek says there are some rules when mixing colours. “When dressing in bright shades, try to keep a minimum of three colours whether they’re contrasting colours like bright blue and vibrant oranges for an upbeat look or shades from the same colour family, like aqua blues paired with cool mint, which is a fresh way of approaching colour.”
