THE BENEFITS OF TAHITIAN MONOI MIRACLE OIL

This sacred beauty oil created 2000 years ago is starting to gain popularity for its amazing moisturizing properties. So go on and make an oil change.

There are many different types of body lotion on the market and because there is so much choice it’s often hard to decide which one works best for your skin. The best answer is basically trial and error. But recently, I’ve decided to forgo the creamy textures of these formulas in place of oil.

A lot of people seem to shy away from oils because they think they’ll either make their skin, well, oily, or cause skin breakouts. From my experience, I’ve noticed that not only does it absorb quickly into the skin, it keeps my super dry winter skin moisturized much longer than a regular cream.

But it’s not just any oil, it’s Monoi - one of nature’s wonders going back 2,000 years originating from Tahiti in the French Polynesian islands that can also be used on hair.

What is Monoi? Monoi consists of pure coconut oil mixed with the Tahitian Gardenia flower called “Tiare.”  According to Monoi.com the product manufactured commercially since 1942. The people of Polynesia discovered that pure coconut oil is an essential secret for beautiful skin and hair. The coconut oil used in Monoi is so highly refined that it’s quickly absorbed in skin. Vitamin E and fragrance is usually added to create a variety of different types.

According to moanabeauty.com, the properties of monoi have been scientifically tested and proven to have  soothing and purifying effects on the skin comparable to or even superior to the effects shea butter and jojoba oil on the skin. Monoi is also said to not cause any skin reaction, or allergies. In fact,Tahitian women massage their babies daily with monoi oil in the morning and at night.

Popular brands include Monoi Tiare Tahiti,  the Body Shop’s Spa Wisdom Polynesia Monoi Miracle Oil (which I’m currently using), and Monoi Tiki Tahiti.

I love that you mentioned how the oil absorbs quickly into the skin. It’s interesting that the Tahiti Monoi oil keeps your skin moisturized for a longer period of time than a lot of lotions. My brother just moved to a very dry climate and has been complaining of dry skin. This product could be very beneficial to him.
